North Carolina vs. Duke updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the North Carolina vs. Duke football game
The Duke Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the North Carolina Tar Heels at 8:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Kenan Memorial Stadium. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Duke gave up the first points last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They skirted past Wake Forest 24-21. The win was just what Duke needed coming off of a 23-0 defeat in their prior contest.
Duke's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaquez Moore, who rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, one look at the score and it should come as no surprise that North Carolina was far and away the favorite against Campbell. North Carolina put a hurting on Campbell at home to the tune of 59-7. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Carolina to victory, but perhaps none more so than Omarion Hampton, who rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Hampton hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games. Drake Maye was another key contributor, throwing for 244 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to North Carolina's defense and their five sacks. Leading the way was Cedric Gray and his two sacks.
Duke's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for North Carolina, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Duke is hoping to beat the odds on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. This contest might not be the best time to bet them against the spread since they've let bettors down the last three times they've played.
Duke couldn't quite finish off North Carolina when the teams last played back in October of 2022 and fell 38-35. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of North Carolina's Maye, who threw for 380 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes. Now that Duke knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
