Live scores, highlights and updates from the Oregon vs. Arizona football game
Through 3 Quarters
The Oregon Ducks are just one quarter away from delivering their fans the win they've been expecting all week. Either team is in a position to win, but they lead against the Arizona Wildcats 24-19. Oregon actually trail Arizona in yards, but only by 13.
The Ducks have been relying on QB Anthony Brown, who has passed for two TDs and 177 yards on 18 attempts in addition to picking up 33 yards on the ground, and RB Travis Dye, who has picked up 92 yards on the ground on five carries. Near the top of the highlight reel was Brown's 63-yard TD bomb to WR Jaylon Redd in the first quarter.
Oregon's defense has been flying around the field, snatching three takeaways already. they might just be able to coast to victory if they can keep up that ball pressure
Who's Playing
Arizona @ No. 3 Oregon
Current Records: Arizona 0-3; Oregon 3-0
What to Know
Get ready for a Pac-12 battle as the Oregon Ducks and the Arizona Wildcats will face off at 10:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Autzen Stadium. Oregon will be strutting in after a win while Arizona will be stumbling in from a defeat.
A well-balanced attack led the Ducks over the Stony Brook Seawolves every single quarter on their way to victory last week. Oregon was fully in charge, breezing past Stony Brook 48-7 at home. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Oregon had established a 31-7 advantage. Their success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but RB Travis Dye led the charge as he punched in one rushing touchdown.
Oregon's defense was a presence as well, as it collected three interceptions and one fumble. S Verone McKinley III picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats might have drawn first blood against the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks last week, but it was Northern Arizona who got the last laugh. It was close but no cigar for Arizona as they fell 21-19 to Northern Arizona. This was hardly the result Arizona or its fans were betting on, as they were favored by 26.5 points over the Lumberjacks heading into this matchup. QB Will Plummer had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: despite one touchdown, he threw two interceptions with only 191 yards passing.
This next contest looks promising for the Ducks, who are favored by a full 29.5 points. They may be expected to win, but bettors beware: they are 0-2 against the spread when favored.
Oregon's victory brought them up to 3-0 while Arizona's loss pulled them down to a reciprocal 0-3. A couple defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Oregon is 220th worst in the nation in passing yards allowed per game, with 304.3 on average. The Wildcats have experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the matchup with the 193rd most rushing yards allowed per game in the nation, having given up 193.3 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
