South Alabama vs. Louisiana-Monroe Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the South Alabama vs. Louisiana-Monroe football game
Game Recap
The South Alabama Jaguars fell to the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks 30-17 when the two teams previously met in September of last year; this time around, they exacted some revenge. South Alabama made easy work of Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday and carried off a 38-14 win. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Jaguars had established a 31-6 advantage.
South Alabama relied on the efforts of WR Kawaan Baker, who caught six passes for three TDs and 154 yards, and QB Desmond Trotter, who passed for three TDs and 184 yards on 12 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 33 yards. Trotter's 80-yard touchdown toss to Baker in the first quarter made for one of the most memorable moments of the night. South Alabama's CB Devin Rockette got in on the action, too, converting a pick in the first quarter into a touchdown.
No one had a standout game offensively for Louisiana-Monroe, but they got scores from RB Josh Johnson and WR Jordan Carroll.
The win got South Alabama back to even at 2-2. The loss dropped the Warhawks' record to 0-5.
The Jaguars will take on the Georgia Southern Eagles at 7:30 p.m. ET on Thursday at Allen E. Paulson Stadium. South Alabama is 1-1 after wins this season, and Georgia Southern is 1-0 after losses. Louisiana-Monroe will look to defend their home turf next Saturday against the Appalachian State Mountaineers at 7 p.m. ET.
