South Alabama vs. UAB: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Thursday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the South Alabama vs. UAB football game
The UAB Blazers have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They are on the road again on Thursday and play against the South Alabama Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. ET Sept. 24 at Hancock Whitney Stadium. UAB won't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy a 7.5-point advantage in the spread.
The Blazers received a tough blow last week as they fell 31-14 to the Miami (FL) Hurricanes. The losing side was boosted by RB Spencer Brown, who punched in one rushing touchdown.
South Alabama suffered a bitter defeat last week, failing to capitalize on an early lead against the Tulane Green Wave. It was a hard-fought game, but the Jaguars had to settle for a 27-24 loss against Tulane. Despite the defeat, South Alabama had strong showings from RB Carlos Davis, who punched in one rushing touchdown, and WR Kawaan Baker, who caught seven passes for one TD and 129 yards. QB Desmond Trotter's longest connection was to Baker for 34 yards in the first quarter.
UAB is the favorite in this one, with an expected 7.5-point margin of victory. They have failed bettors playing the spread in all their past two games, so buyers beware.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a loss, both will be hungry for the win. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
