TCU vs. Baylor Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the TCU vs. Baylor football game
1st Quarter Report
Fortunes may be turning around for Baylor after losing three in a row. They have jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead against TCU. Baylor took a bit hit to their ego last Saturday, so a win here would be a pleasant pick-me-up.
Baylor came into the match with some extra motivation after the loss they were dealt the last time these two teams faced off. We'll see if they're able to flip the script or if it'll just be more of the same.
Preview
Baylor is 1-7 against TCU since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Baylor Bears will head out on the road to face off against the TCU Horned Frogs at 3:30 p.m. ET at Amon G. Carter Stadium. Baylor might want some stickum for this matchup since the team gave up four turnovers on Saturday.
Baylor gave up the first points and the most points. They took a serious blow against Kansas State, falling 59-25. Baylor's defeat continues a disappointing trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Despite their loss, Baylor saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Blake Shapen, who threw for 253 yards and four touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. Dawson Pendergrass also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, while it was TCU who put the first points on the board on Saturday, it was Texas who put up more. TCU fell just short of Texas by a score of 29-26. The close game was extra heartbreaking for TCU, who almost overcame a 20 point deficit.
Savion Williams put forth a good effort for the losing side as he picked up 164 receiving yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Emani Bailey, who rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown.
Baylor has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for TCU, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
In addition to losing their last games, both teams failed to cover the spread. Looking ahead, TCU is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 13 points. This contest might not be the best time to bet Baylor against the spread since they've let bettors down the last three times they've played.
Baylor and TCU were almost perfectly matched up in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, but Baylor suffered an agonizing 29-28 loss. Thankfully for Baylor, Max Duggan (who threw for 327 yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
