Tennessee vs. South Carolina updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Tennessee vs. South Carolina football game
The Tennessee Volunteers will be playing in front of their home fans against the South Carolina Gamecocks at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Neyland Stadium. Tennessee is out to keep their ten-game home win streak alive.
Last Saturday, Tennessee was fully in charge, breezing past UTSA 45-14 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-0.
Tennessee's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Dylan Sampson, who rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns, and Joe Milton III, who threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown. Milton III's longest rush was for an incredible 81 yards.
Meanwhile, South Carolina earned a 37-30 win over Mississippi State on Saturday.
Xavier Legette and Spencer Rattler were among the main playmakers for South Carolina as the former picked up 189 receiving yards and two touchdowns and the latter threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns. Mario Anderson and his 88 yards on the ground were another key factor in South Carolina's victory.
South Carolina's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Alex Huntley and his two sacks.
Their wins bumped Tennessee to 3-1 and South Carolina to 2-2.
Not only did both teams in this Saturday's game win their last matches, they also took care of their bettors and covered the spread. Looking ahead, Tennessee is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 12.5 points. South Carolina might be worth a quick bet since they've covered the spread the last three times they've played Tennessee.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday' matchup: The Volunteers have been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 229.5 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for the Gamecocks, though, as they've been averaging only 75.8 per game. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
