Live scores, highlights and updates from the Texas A&M vs. Kent State football game
Game Recap
The Texas A&M Aggies ran circles around the Kent State Golden Flashes on Saturday, and the extra yardage (595 yards vs. 336 yards) paid off. A&M was the clear victor by a 41-10 margin over Kent State. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Aggies had established a 27-3 advantage.
Among those leading the charge for A&M was RB Devon Achane, who rushed for two TDs and 124 yards on 12 carries. One of the most memorable plays of the game was Achane's 63-yard touchdown rush in the third quarter. Texas A&M's DB Leon O'Neal Jr. got in on the action, too, converting a pick in the third quarter into a touchdown.
A&M's defense was a presence as well, as it got past Kent State's offensive line to sack the QB five times for a total loss of 22 yards. It was a group effort with five guys contributing.
The Golden Flashes' only offensive touchdown came on a rush from QB Collin Schlee.
The matchup brought the Aggies to 1-0 and dropped Kent State to a mirror-image 0-1.
A&M will take on the Colorado Buffaloes at 3:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at Empower Field at Mile High. Colorado is coming in off of a big 35-7 win over the Northern Colorado Bears. Kent State will look to defend their home turf next Saturday against the VMI Keydets at 11:30 a.m. ET.
