Georgia vs. Mississippi State updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Georgia vs. Mississippi State football game
Game Recap
The Mississippi State Bulldogs had a rough go of it in September of 2017 when they matched up with the Georgia Bulldogs and had to endure more of the same on Saturday. MSU took a 31-24 hit to the loss column.
UGA's success was spearheaded by the efforts of WR Jermaine Burton, who caught eight passes for two TDs and 197 yards, and QB JT Daniels, who passed for four TDs and 401 yards on 38 attempts. That receiving effort made it the first game that Burton has posted more than 100 yards receiving. On the other hand, one thorn in UGA's side was the less-than-spectacular play of RB Zamir White, who rushed for 21 yards on 11 carries.
MSU's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of WR Jaden Walley, who caught seven passes for one TD and 115 yards, and RB Dillon Johnson, who punched in two rushing touchdowns. That's the most rushing touchdowns Johnson has had all year.
The contest pushed MSU down to 2-5 and pulled UGA up to the reverse at 5-2.
MSU is staying on the road next Saturday to face off against the Ole Miss Rebels at 4 p.m. ET Nov. 28 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium at Hollingsworth Field. As for UGA, they will face off against the South Carolina Gamecocks at 7:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium. USC took a loss in their last matchup and are no doubt out to reverse Georgia's good fortune.
