USC vs. UCLA Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the USC vs. UCLA football game
1st Quarter Report
UCLA is on the board, but we're still waiting on USC to respond. UCLA has a bit of a cushion as they currently lead USC 14-0. UCLA's offense has been firing on all cylinders thus far, outscoring their total from last Saturday with time still left to play.
UCLA came into the game with some extra motivation after the defeat they were dealt the last time these two teams faced off. We'll see if they're able to flip the script or if it'll just be more of the same.
Preview
The USC Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the UCLA Bruins at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at United Airlines Field at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
After a sunny season, USC has been experiencing darker times in their latest games. They fell 36-27 to Oregon on Saturday. USC has not had much luck with Oregon recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Caleb Williams and Bo Nix. Nix had a great game and threw for 412 yards and four touchdowns while completing 74.2% of his passes. Meanwhile, Williams did his best for the losing side, throwing for 291 yards and a touchdown, while also punching in a rushing scores.
Meanwhile, the point spread may have favored UCLA last Saturday, but the final result did not. They took a 17-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arizona State. It was the first time this season that UCLA let down their fans at home.
USC has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season. As for UCLA, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Not only did both teams lose their last games, but neither team managed to cover the spread. Going forward, USC is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 6.5 points. For those looking to play the spread, watch out: USC is expected to win, but their 2-6 record against the spread as such isn't exactly encouraging.
USC skirted past UCLA 48-45 in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was UCLA's Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who threw for 309 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be that much easier for USC to walk away with another win? Check CBSSports.com after the match to find out.
