Vanderbilt vs. Kentucky: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Vanderbilt vs. Kentucky football game
Game Recap
The Kentucky Wildcats won the last time they met up with the Vanderbilt Commodores, and they shouldn't regret having come to the reunion, either. The Wildcats took down Vanderbilt 34-17 on Saturday.
UK's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 31 points in the first half. Vanderbilt countered with 3 points. UK couldn't replicate their first half dominance, getting outscored after the break, but not by enough to lose the game.
It was another big night for UK's RB Chris Rodriguez Jr., who rushed for one TD and 110 yards on 15 carries. Kentucky's DB Jalen Geiger got in on the action, too, converting a pick in the second quarter into a touchdown.
No one had a standout game offensively for the Commodores, but they got scores from WR Chris Pierce Jr. and WR Amir Abdur-Rahman.
The victory improved the Wildcats' record to 7-3. The loss dropped Vanderbilt's record to 2-8.
UK will look to defend their home turf next Saturday against the New Mexico State Aggies at noon ET. New Mexico State's offense will be looking to get out and run against a New Mexico State squad that has given up 40 points on average this season. As for the Commodores, they will face off against the Ole Miss Rebels at 7:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium at Hollingsworth Field.
