Through 3 Quarters

The Washington State Cougars need a victory to reach .500, and so far things are looking up. Three quarters in and their offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating the Portland State Vikings 37-10 three quarters in. QB Jayden de Laura has led the way so far for Washington State, as he has passed for two TDs and 229 yards on 21 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown.

The Cougars and Portland State both experienced trouble in their last games, but one is bound to make up for it today. Washington State just need to hang on one more quarter to get back on their feet.

What to Know

The Portland State Vikings are on the road again Saturday and play against the Washington State Cougars at 6 p.m. ET Sept. 11 at Clarence D. Martin Stadium. Portland State will be hoping to build upon the 24-17 win they picked up against Washington State when they previously played in September of 2015.

The Vikings came up short against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors last week, falling 49-35.

Meanwhile, it was close but no cigar for Washington State as they fell 26-23 to the Utah State Aggies last week. What made the loss an especially bitter pill for Washington State to swallow was that they had been favored by 17 points coming into the game. Despite the defeat, they got a solid performance out of RB Max Borghi, who punched in one rushing touchdown. That touchdown -- a 64-yard rush in the third quarter -- was one of the highlights of the matchup.

Special teams collected 11 points for Washington State. K Dean Janikowski delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.

With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. Check back to see which squad is able to work their way into the win column.
