Wyoming vs. Fresno State updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Wyoming vs. Fresno State football game
Fresno State has enjoyed a two-game homestead but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Wyoming Cowboys at 8:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium. Fresno State will be coming into the game with an undefeated 5-0 record.
Last Saturday, Fresno State strolled past Nevada with points to spare, taking the game 27-9.
Jaelen Gill and Malik Sherrod were among the main playmakers for Fresno State as the former picked up 126 receiving yards and two touchdowns and the latter rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Those 126 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for Gill. Mikey Keene had a good game too, finishing with 269 passing yards and two touchdowns in total.
Meanwhile, Wyoming gave up the first points last Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 35-26 victory over New Mexico. With that win, Wyoming brought their scoring average up to 26.2 points per game.
Wyoming can attribute much of their success to Harrison Waylee, who rushed for 191 yards and a touchdown on only 18 carries. Those 191 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Waylee. Andrew Peasley was another key contributor, throwing for 194 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Fresno State to 5-0 and Wyoming to 4-1.
While fans of the pair were happy after their last outing, their bettors probably weren't as neither team covered. Looking ahead, Fresno State is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by six points. This contest will be their fourth straight as the favorites (a stretch that saw them go 2-2 against the spread).
Everything came up roses for Fresno State against Wyoming when the teams last played last November as the squad secured a 30-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fresno State since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
