Fantasy Baseball: Two-start pitcher rankings for Week 11 show some faith in Joe Ross, Alex Meyer
You've probably bought into Jimmy Nelson by now, but are you going there with Joe Ross again? What about Alex Meyer? Scott White ranks two-start options for Week 11.
Really? We have to make this decision?
As much grief as Joe Ross has already given us (he's a sleeper ... no, a minor-leaguer ... oh look, he's good again ... no wait, he's terrible), why after another about-face does he have to have a two-start week coming up?
It's a test -- a test of how much you really value that extra start. Because if he goes back to being awful Joe Ross, he's killing you twice over. But if he's the one who struck out 12 Orioles Thursday, the Braves and Mets lineups are mincemeat.
He's the middle of three tiers of sleepers I'm recommending for this week. The higher-tier choice is Jimmy Nelson, who somewhat amazingly hasn't achieved 80 percent ownership in CBS Sports leagues yet, but he's close. A matchup against the Padres makes it an easier call. The lower-tier sleeper is Alex Meyer, who still struggles with walks, but upping the use of his curveball has made him a big-time bat-misser of late.
Those aren't the only potential waiver claims worth starting in a week without many high-end two-start options. The top 18 are all musts for me, provided you have the roster space, and Nos. 19-21 are acceptable gambles, if only in points leagues.
