Padres' Nomar Mazara: Misses Opening Day roster

The Padres reassigned Mazara to Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday.

Mazara inked a minor-league deal with the Friars in February but won't make the Opening Day roster after hitting .172 during spring training. The 26-year-old had a .597 OPS in 50 games with the Tigers last season before being cut in July.
