Santiago Espinal 3B | CIN
Reds' Santiago Espinal: Out of lineup again Monday
Espinal is absent from the lineup for Monday's contest against the Yankees.
For the third time over the Reds' last four games, Espinal will find himself on the bench. On the first two occasions Espinal sat, Gavin Lux started at third base, but Christian Encarnacion-Strand will occupy the hot corner Monday.

Jeimer Candelario 3B | NYY
Reds' Jeimer Candelario: Dropped from 40-man roster
The Reds reinstated Candelario (back) from the 10-day injured list Monday and designated him for assignment.
Though Cincinnati has received underwhelming production at third base from Santiago Espinal and Christian Encarnacion-Strand of late, management apparently didn't view Candelario as a short-term solution at the position now that the 31-year-old is healthy again after he had been on the shelf since April 30 due to a lumbar spine strain. Before landing on the IL, Candelario was batting just .113 with a career-high 31.9 percent strikeout rate over 91 plate appearances, and he didn't fare much better in an extended rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville, with whom he produced a .211/.318/.333 slash line in 15 games. Now that he's been DFA'd, Candelario will be exposed to waivers, but he's unlikely to find a suitor that's willing to take on the money remaining on his three-year, $45 million deal, which runs through 2026. Candelario could choose to become a free agent once he clears waivers.

Jacob Reimer 3B | NYM
Mets' Jacob Reimer: Moving up to Double-A
The Mets will promote Reimer from High-A Brooklyn to Double-A Binghamton this week, Ezra Lombardi of SI.com reports.
New York is sending two of its top position prospects to the Eastern League, as outfielder Carson Benge will also be bumped up from High-A. A 21-year-old corner infielder, Reimer has enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2025, slashing .284/.388/.500 with eight home runs and 11 steals in 62 games with Brooklyn.

Caleb Durbin 3B | MIL
Brewers' Caleb Durbin: Three hits, steal in win
Durbin went 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and a stolen base in Sunday's 9-8 win over Minnesota.
The stolen base was Durbin's first since May 30, though he's been productive at the plate recently, going 11-for-32 (.344) with an .854 OPS in his last nine contests. The rookie third baseman is slashing .228/.318/.332 with three homers, 25 RBI, 25 runs scored and six steals across his first 213 plate appearances.

Matt Chapman 3B | SF
Giants' Matt Chapman: Sheds splint, starts swinging
Chapman (hand) said Sunday that he's no longer wearing a splint and has resumed one-handed swinging in the batting cage, MLB.com reports.
Chapman was placed on the 10-day injured list June 10 due to a right hand sprain, but he was cleared to resume baseball activities last week and ditched his splint Friday. Though Chapman is limited to taking one-handed swings for now, he could be ready to start taking full swings beginning Tuesday, per Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News. The third baseman remains unlikely to return before the end of June, though he's hopeful he'll return before the All-Star break, according to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle. Casey Schmitt is expected to continue handling an everyday role at the hot corner until Chapman is activated.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Monster day in win
Muncy went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and a three-run home run during Sunday's 13-7 win over the Nationals.
Muncy tied his career high in RBI, plating seven Dodgers for the second time in just over three weeks after doing so May 31. He's having an excellent month at the plate, going 18-for-58 (.310) with five home runs across 19 games in June. He had logged merely four home runs before then.

Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN
Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Rare multi-RBI performance
Hayes went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored Sunday against the Rangers.
Hayes delivered RBI singles in the fourth and fifth innings to record just his third multi-RBI performance of the season and first since April 14. He's chipped in three stolen bases across 17 games in June, but his fantasy contributions have otherwise been minimal. Hayes has gone 15-for-59 with one home run, five RBI and six runs scored for the month and has had a very poor year at the plate overall.

Ronny Mauricio 2B | NYM
Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Getting consistent at-bats
Mauricio will start at third base and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Phillies.
Mauricio will nab his fifth start in six games, though three came while fellow infielder Brett Baty was out with a groin injury, and Sunday's start comes with the lefty-hitting Baty exiting the lineup due to the Phillies sending a lefty (Jesus Luzardo) to the hill. At this point, Mauricio doesn't looked to be locked in as a lineup regular against right-handed pitching when the Mets are at close to full strength, and his playing time could start to trend down once Mark Vientos (hamstring) makes his return from the injured list during the upcoming week.
-
Brett Baty 3B | NYM
Mets' Brett Baty: On bench versus lefty
Baty is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.
After he recently missed out on three straight starts due to a groin injury, Baty returned to the lineup this weekend and went 0-for-8 with a walk and a run scored while covering third base in the first two contests of the series. He's not believed to be dealing with any sort of setback with the groin injury, as his absence from the lineup Sunday likely has more to do with southpaw Jesus Luzardo taking the hill for the Phillies. Baty has produced a lowly .420 OPS thus far in June, and he could be at risk of losing out on playing time against right-handed pitching when Mark Vientos (hamstring) likely returns from the injured list during the upcoming week.

Santiago Espinal 3B | CIN
Reds' Santiago Espinal: Heading to bench Sunday
Espinal is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
After starting at third base in three of the past four games, Espinal appeared to have taken back primary duties from the struggling Christian Encarnacion-Strand, but both players will be left out of the lineup Sunday. Gavin Lux will step in at the hot corner, opening up the designated hitter spot for Tyler Stephenson, who gets a day off from catching.
