Blues' Vadim Zherenko: Falls to Chicago

Zherenko allowed six goals on 22 shots in Saturday's 6-2 preseason loss to the Blackhawks in Milwaukee.

Zherenko wasn't up to the task against a mostly AHL Rockford-esque lineup, though the Blackhawks also dressed Connor Bedard for the contest. Over four periods of play in the preseason, Zherenko surrendered 10 goals on 39 shots. The 23-year-old is virtually guaranteed to open 2024-25 with AHL Springfield, and it would likely take an injury to Jordan Binnington or Joel Hofer for Zherenko to be considered for his NHL debut.
