Royals second baseman Omar Infante is expected to miss 2-to-3 weeks with a Grade 1 oblique strain, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
Manager Ned Yost had said Infante would likely be out "for a while" after suffering the injury Friday, but this timetable effectively eliminates any hope Infante had of returning during the regular season. Ben Zobrist continues to fill in at second base with Christian Colon and Cheslor Cuthbert serving as the team's utility middle-infield options.
