WATCH: Marlins' Ozuna and his wife both hit monster home runs at Tropicana Field
Marcell's blast was 468 feet and hit a Rays banner
Two Ozunas homered in Tropicana Field on Wednesday. Before the Marlins-Rays battle at night, the wives and girlfriends of players on each respective team put on a softball game for charity. Genesis Ozuna went deep in that one before his husband, All-Star Marcell Ozuna, absolutely destroyed a baseball in the would-be nightcap:
Man, Marcell's shot hit the 2011 AL wild card banner. What a prodigious blast. MLB.com's Statcast pegged the shot at 468 feet, making it the fifth-longest home run of the year, trailing Jake Lamb (481 feet), Ryan Zimmerman (470), Manny Machado (470) and Hanley Ramirez (468).
Ozuna heads into Thursday hitting .300/.360/.570 with eight homers and 23 RBI so far this season. Genesis holds a far superior home runs per game rate, though. Bragging rights and all.
