Mark McGwire's home-run record chase in 1998 played a huge role in restoring baseball's popularity. During the 1998 season, McGwire hit five homers over 500 feet. His longest big fly of his career came that year when he hit an insane 545-foot jack off Livan Hernandez.

Ted Williams - 1946
On June 9, 1946, Ted Williams launched a Fred Hutchinson pitch into the right field bleachers that ultimately hit a fan named Joseph A. Boucher. Boucher was sitting a ridiculous 502 feet away from home plate. His seat was painted red to mark the longest homer in Fenway Park history.

Babe Ruth - 1932
Babe Ruth is one of the most prolific power hitters baseball has ever seen. His most famous home run also was his most impressive. During Game 3 of the 1932 World Series, Ruth allegedly pointed to the center field bleachers to "call his shot." On the very next pitch, Ruth followed through with his declaration. It was the last playoff home run of Ruth's career.

Barry Bonds - 2002
In the 2002 World Series, Barry Bonds went deep four times in the series. None was bigger than his monstrous Game 2 shot against former Angels closer Troy Percival, who was one of the hardest-throwing pitchers in the league. Bonds' homer to right field measured 485 feet, and when the camera cut to outfielder Tim Salmon, he said, "That's the farthest ball I've ever seen hit."

Mickey Mantle - 1953
Mickey Mantle's home run power can be a little hard to believe. Mickey Mantle's 1953 blast against the Washington Senators exited Griffith Stadium and finally stopped across the street. One Yankees staffer took a tape measure and estimated the ball traveled 565 feet.

Albert Pujols - 2005
Back when Albert Pujols was a member of the St. Louis Cardinals, he slammed a monster three-run homer off Brad Lidge in Houston. The big fly reached approximately 95 feet in the air and jumped off the bat at 117 mph, per ESPN's Home Run Tracker.

Reggie Jackson - 1971
Reggie Jackson earned the name Mr. October for his magnificent playoff performances, but his most famous home run came during the 1971 Midsummer Classic. In the All-Star Game, Jackson launched a mammoth shot to right field that hit a light tower. It's arguably the most famous home run in the 88 years of Tiger Stadium.
