White Sox's Yoan Aybar: Loses spot on 40-man roster
Rotowire
Aybar was outrighted to Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
Aybar was promoted to the Triple-A level in late May, and he's posted a 7.45 ERA and 1.88 WHIP in 19.1 innings over 20 appearances with Charlotte. He'll lose his spot on the 40-man roster to help make room for Elvis Andrus, who agreed to a contract with the White Sox on Thursday after being cut loose by the A's.

White Sox's Yoan Aybar: Debuts at Double-A
Rotowire
Aybar (visa issues) joined Double-A Birmingham last week and made his first two appearances of the season for the affiliate, striking out two over two scoreless frames.
A waiver pickup from the Yankees in late March, Aybar was delayed in joining the White Sox for spring training while he looked to resolve a visa issue. He stuck around at extended spring training to complete his ramp-up program before heading to Birmingham.

Rockies' Yoan Aybar: Designated for assignment
Rotowire
Aybar was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Friday, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports.
Aybar is dealing with visa troubles and has yet to report to camp. Once he does, he'll do so as a non-roster invitee unless he's claimed off waivers. The move clears space on the roster for the newly signed Kris Bryant.

Manager Bud Black said Wednesday that Aybar hasn't yet reported to spring training due to visa issues, Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com reports.
Aybar spent the entire 2021 campaign at Double-A Hartford and posted a career-worst 6.22 ERA and 1.80 WHIP in 46.1 innings across 49 relief appearances. It's not yet clear when he'll join the Rockies for camp, but he'll presumably begin the season at the Double-A or Triple-A level.

Rockies' Yoan Aybar: Dealt to Rockies
Rotowire
Aybar was traded from the Red Sox to the Rockies on Thursday in exchange for infielder Christian Koss.
Even though Aybar was on Boston's 40-man roster in 2020, he wasn't included in the team's 60-man player pool during the abbreviated season. The 23-year-old hasn't pitched above the High-A level, but he posted a 4.61 ERA and 1.36 WHIP over 56.2 innings across 44 relief appearances between the Low-A and High-A clubs in 2019. The southpaw should continue to serve as organizational depth with his new organization in 2021.
