The Guardians designated Bilous for assignment Thursday. He's a roster casualty with the Guardians needing to free up a spot on the 40-man. Bilous was a waiver claim back in February and will go through that process again.

Guardians' Jason Bilous: Optioned to Triple-A

Bilous was optioned to Triple-A Columbus by the Guardians on Tuesday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports. Bilous has pitched well this spring after being claimed off waivers from the White Sox shortly before camp opened. He'll head to Columbus and the plan seems to be to use him in relief moving forward.

Bilous was designated for assignment by the White Sox on Friday. A spot needed to be cleared to make room for the addition of Franklin German. Bilous, 25, posted a 6.30 ERA and 131:79 K:BB over 105.2 innings between Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Charlotte last season. He's always missed bats, but his struggles on the whole mean he'll probably clear waivers.
