Giants vs. Panthers Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Giants vs. Panthers football game
The Carolina Panthers have enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they must head out on the road. They will take on the New York Giants at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at MetLife Stadium. Given that these two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
The Panthers fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Minnesota Vikings last week but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 34-28. No one had a standout game offensively for Carolina, but they got scores from WR Robby Anderson and RB Chuba Hubbard.
Meanwhile, New York scored first but ultimately less than the Los Angeles Rams in their matchup last week. New York has to be aching after a bruising 38-11 defeat to Los Angeles. New York was in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 28-3. QB Daniel Jones had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: besides failing to produce a single touchdown, he threw three interceptions and fumbled the ball once with only 4.75 yards per passing attempt.
This next contest is expected to be close, with the Panthers going off at just a 3-point favorite. Those sticking with them against the spread have guts, to put it politely, as the squad has let down bettors in their past three games.
Carolina is now 3-3 while the Giants sit at 1-5. A couple defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Carolina enters the matchup with only 216 passing yards allowed per game on average, good for second best in the league. Less enviably, New York is fourth worst in the NFL in touchdowns allowed, with 20 on the season. So the cards are definitely stacked against New York.
