Jaguars vs. Texans updates: Live NFL game scores, results for Sunday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Jaguars vs. Texans football game
The Jacksonville Jaguars are 2-9 against the Houston Texans since November of 2016, but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Sunday. Jacksonville and Houston will face off in an AFC South battle at 1 p.m. ET at TIAA Bank Field. Given that these two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
The Jaguars ended up a good deal behind the Tennessee Titans when they played last week, losing 20 to nothing. RB James Robinson had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: he rushed for four yards on six carries.
The Jacksonville defensive unit accumulated four sacks for a loss of 30 yards. It was a group effort with four guys contributing.
Meanwhile, the game between the Texans and the Seattle Seahawks last week was not particularly close, with Houston falling 33-13. No one had a standout game offensively for Houston, but they got one touchdown from QB Davis Mills. Mills ended up with a passer rating of 130.80.
Jacksonville is the favorite in this one, with an expected 3.5-point margin of victory. They have failed bettors playing the spread in their past four games, so buyers beware.
The losses bumped both teams down to an identical 2-11. A pair of offensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Jaguars are worst in the league in passing touchdowns, with only nine on the season. The Texans have experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the matchup with the fewest overall offensive touchdowns in the NFL, having accrued only 19 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
