Jets vs. 49ers updates: Live NFL game scores, results for Sunday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Jets vs. 49ers football game
Game Recap
The New York Jets were the 23-17 winners over the San Francisco 49ers when they previously met in December of 2016. Sunday? They had no such luck. The Jets took a hard 31-13 fall against San Francisco. This makes it the second defeat in a row for New York.
The 49ers relied on the efforts of RB Raheem Mostert, who punched in one rushing touchdown, and RB Jerick McKinnon, who punched in one rushing touchdown. That touchdown -- an 80-yard rush in the first quarter -- a was one of the highlights of the game. TE Jordan Reed was in the mix, too, providing San Francisco with two touchdowns.
No one had a standout game offensively for the Jets, but WR Braxton Berrios led the way with one touchdown. Sam Darnold's longest connection was to WR Chris Hogan for 27 yards in the fourth quarter.
New York's overall record fell to 0-2. The win got the 49ers back to even at 1-1.
New York will square off against the Indianapolis Colts at 4:05 p.m. ET next week at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Jets aren't the favorite to win, but, of course, any team can defy the odds on the right day. San Francisco will hit the road for the second straight week as they head to MetLife Stadium at 1 p.m. ET next week. They won't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy a 5.5-point advantage in the spread.
