Jets vs. Bengals: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Jets vs. Bengals football game
The New York Jets will be returning home after a two-game road trip. They will take on the Cincinnati Bengals at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at MetLife Stadium. The Jets are out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home.
The afternoon started off rough for New York last week, and it ended that way, too. They were dealt a punishing 54-13 defeat at the hands of the New England Patriots. New York was in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 31-7. One thing holding New York back was the mediocre play of QB Mike White, who did not have his best game: despite one touchdown, he threw two interceptions.
Meanwhile, Cincinnati took their game against the Baltimore Ravens last week by a conclusive 41-17 score. The score was close at the half, but Cincinnati pulled away in the second half with 28 points. Their WR Ja'Marr Chase did his thing and caught eight passes for one TD and 201 yards. Joe Burrow's 82-yard touchdown toss down the right side of the field to Chase in the third quarter made for one of the most memorable moments of the afternoon.
The Jets are the clear underdogs, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one. Those betting on them against the spread shouldn't have high expectations for them since the team is 1-5 ATS when expected to lose.
New York is now 1-5 while the Bengals sit at 5-2. Two offensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: New York is worst in the league in overall offensive touchdowns, with only nine on the season. Cincinnati's offense has more to brag about, as they they come into the matchup boasting the third most passing touchdowns in the NFL at 18. So the cards are definitely stacked in their favor.
