Patriots vs. Chargers: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Patriots vs. Chargers football game
The Patriots are 4-0 against the Chargers since October of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Sunday. The New England Patriots will look to defend their home field against the Los Angeles Chargers at 1:00 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium. Coming off a loss in a game the Patriots were expected to win, they now face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.
New England's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Sunday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of the Giants by a score of 10-7. Despite 63 more yards than New York, New England couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
The Patriots' loss came about despite a quality game from Rhamondre Stevenson, who rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Los Angeles started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Baltimore. They fell 20-10 to the Ravens on Sunday. Los Angeles just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
New England bumped their record down to 2-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's lackluster offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.0 points per game. As for Los Angeles, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Not only did the Chargers and the Patriots lose their last games, but neither team managed to cover the spread. As for their next game, the Chargers are the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by six points. Neither team has fared well against the spread this season; they is 4-7, while the Patriots is 2-9.
