Rams vs. Commanders Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Rams vs. Commanders football game
1st Quarter Report
The Rams and the Commanders have shown up to the game, but their offenses sure haven't. After one quarter, neither team has the match in the bag, but the Rams lead 3-0 over the Commanders. This game is far closer than the pair's previous matchup, which was decided by 20 points.
If the Rams keep playing like this, they'll bump their record up to 7-7 in no time. On the other hand, the Commanders will have to make due with a 4-10 record unless they turn things around.
Preview
The Los Angeles Rams will be home for the holidays to greet the Washington Commanders at 4:05 p.m. ET on Sunday at SoFi Stadium. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Los Angeles fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Baltimore on Sunday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 37-31 to the Ravens. Considering how many points were scored, both coaches might be spending a little more time focusing on defense before their next games.
The Rams' loss came about despite a quality game from Matthew Stafford, who threw for 294 yards and three touchdowns. Stafford hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Kupp, who picked up 115 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Washington's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Sunday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a punishing 45-15 loss at the hands of the Dolphins. Washington was surely aware of their disadvantage in the point spread, but the foreknowledge did nothing to prevent the result.
The losing side was boosted by Sam Howell, who rushed for 21 yards and two touchdowns. Those two rushing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for he.
The Commanders had trouble moving the ball and finished the game with only 245 total yards. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as the Dolphins gained 406 total yards.
Los Angeles now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Washington, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Looking ahead, the Rams are the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 6.5 points. They might be worth a quick bet since they've covered the spread the last three times they've played.
