To play or not to play Browns DST: Megatron has the answer

Rarely can the availability of one opposing player make a play/don't play difference in regard to a Fantasy DST. But that of Lions super receiver Calvin Johnson should indeed be the determining factor in whether to put the Browns DST in most lineups.
Megatron (knee) could be a game-time decision. His absence with second receiver Nate Burleson already out turns the Lions into pussycats offensively. They scored just nine points without Johnson in the loss to Green Bay last Sunday. But the addition of Johnson makes the Cleveland DST only a decent play.
Granted, the Browns rank ninth in points (94), fourth in yards (1,509) and first in passing touchdowns (2) allowed. But they rank last in rushing touchdowns surrendered (8). They are working toward elite status, but not there yet. Cornerback Joe Haden has emerged as a Pro Bowl talent, but his size precludes much of a possibility that he can shut down Johnson.
CBSSports.com senior Fantasy writers Jamey Eisenberg and Dave Richard are both skeptical, ranking the Browns DST 19th this week, but colleague Nathan Zegura has them 10th.
The Lions can roar offensively with Johnson in the lineup. Think twice about playing the Browns if he is. After all, the possibility that punt returner Travis Benjamin goes for another score is minimal.
