Vikings vs. Falcons updates: Live NFL game scores, results for Sunday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Vikings vs. Falcons football game
Game Recap
The Atlanta Falcons fell to the Minnesota Vikings 28-12 when the two teams previously met in September of last year; this time around, they exacted some revenge. Atlanta enjoyed a cozy 40-23 victory over Minnesota this past Sunday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Falcons as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Atlanta QB Matt Ryan was slinging it as he passed for four TDs and 371 yards on 40 attempts. On the other hand, one thorn in Atlanta's side was the less-than-spectacular play of RB Todd Gurley, who rushed for 47 yards on 20 carries.
Special teams collected 16 points for Atlanta. K Younghoe Koo delivered a perfect 4-for-4 game.
A silver lining for Minnesota was the play of WR Justin Jefferson, who caught nine passes for two TDs and 166 yards.
The Falcons' victory brought them up to 1-5. This is the second loss in a row for the Vikings and nudges their record down to 1-5.
Atlanta will look to defend their home turf on Sunday against the Detroit Lions at 1 p.m. ET. Detroit enter the game touting a three-game streak of increasing point totals. Minnesota will have some time to rest before their next contest, which is against the Green Bay Packers at 1 p.m. ET next week at Lambeau Field.
