Hakeem Adeniji: Works out for Dallas
Rotowire
The Cowboys hosted Adeniji, who is a free agent, for a tryout Wednesday, Howard Balzer of USA Today reports.
Adeniji suffered a knee injury during the preseason last summer and missed the entirety of the 2024 campaign. Now healthy, the 27-year-old offensive lineman will look to land a spot on an offseason roster with the chance to compete for a depth role. Adeniji has appeared in 43 career regular-season contests, including 15 starts.
Adeniji hurt his right knee in Saturday's preseason loss to Green Bay and exited the stadium on crutches, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Adeniji was hurt on a pass play that resulted in a Tyler Huntley interception early in the third quarter. It was a rough day for Cleveland's offensive line, as fellow tackles James Hudson (ankle) and Germain Ifedi (hand) also departed with injuries. Adeniji has been competing for a depth role in the preseason, and his chance of making the 53-man roster could take a hit if he's unable to play in the Browns' final exhibition game next Saturday against Seattle.
