  • Panthers' Kalen King: Signed to active roster

The Panthers signed King to the active roster from their practice squad Saturday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports. King will now have an opportunity to make his NFL regular-season debut after joining the active roster. The 22-year-old should help bolster the team's depth in the secondary, as Jaycee Horn (concussion) and Corey Thornton (leg) are both dealing with injuries.

  • Packers' Kalen King: Returns from injury

King (arm) is fully healthy and participated in training camp Sunday, Wes Hodkiewicz of Packers.com reports. King was seen with a cast on his right forearm during the Packers' minicamp in the early portion of the offseason. Before his injury, the second-year cornerback was turning heads after spending his rookie season on the practice squad. The 22-year-old is expected to work at nickel with the second-team defense now that he's back.

  • Packers' Kalen King: Wearing cast on forearm

King (forearm) did not participate during minicamp Tuesday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. King is evidently hurt enough that he needs to wear a cast on his right forearm, though it's not immediately clear what happened. Until he's ready to return to action, rookie seventh-rounder Micah Robinson could see higher leverage opportunities at practice.

  • Packers' Kalen King: Impressing at camp

King has looked "really, really good" throughout the Packers' offseason programs, Jason Wilde of Channel 3000 reports. King spent most of his rookie campaign on the Packers' practice squad, but he now appears to be making a push for the active roster ahead of the 2025 season. The second-year corner has played in the slot and on the outside, providing Green Bay with much-needed secondary depth during offseason programs. If King continues to impresses the Packers' staff, he'll likely earn a spot on the 53-man roster as a depth piece in the cornerback room.

  • Packers' Kalen King: Falls to Green Bay in Round 7

The Packers selected King in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 255th overall. King, out of Penn State, entered this season with some buzz as a much earlier pick after leading the Big Ten in pass breakups as a true sophomore with 21. His pass breakup count dropped to just two in 12 games in 2023, and he had no interceptions. His combine performance further hurt his stock, as he ran a 4.61 at 5-foot-11, 191 pounds. The Packers can dream on recapturing King's 2022 form because production like that is uncommon. They will also have to hope they are not getting the player they saw in 2023.
