  • Michael Spacek: Goes unqualified by Jets

Spacek did not receive a qualifying offer from the Jets and will become a UFA on Friday, Ken Wiebe of Sportsnet reports. Spacek recorded a reasonable 20 points in 45 games with AHL Manitoba in 2019-20, one year after a 41-point effort in 74 contests. The dip in production was enough for the Jets to let go of Spacek's rights. The winger has since signed on with Tappara of the Finnish Liiga. The 23-year-old may still have a future in North America, but he'd likely have to take a minor-league deal for that to happen.

  • Jets' Michael Spacek: Returned to AHL Manitoba

Spacek was shipped down to the minors Wednesday. Spacek was a healthy scratch for all nine of Winnipeg's games since being called up in mid-November. The Jets claimed Nick Shore off waivers, which made the 22-year-old Spacek expendable. The Czech will rejoin the Moose, for whom he's registered three goals and four assists in 14 contest this year.

  • Jets' Michael Spacek: Recalled from minors

Spacek was promoted from AHL Manitoba on Wednesday. Spacek's promotion will provide the Jets with some added forward depth due to injuries to Bryan Little (ear) and Mason Appleton (foot) to name a few. If Spacek does play in a game, it would likely be in place of Logan Shaw or Joona Luoto.

  • Jets' Michael Spacek: Reassigned to minors

Spacek (undisclosed) was sent down to AHL Manitoba on Monday. Spacek was a long shot for the 23-man roster, especially following the emergence of Kristian Vesalainen during training camp. The 21-year-old Spacek will likely spend the bulk of the upcoming campaign in the minors in order to continue developing his game.

  • Jets' Michael Spacek: Sustains undisclosed injury

Spacek is currently dealing with an undisclosed injury, Jason Bell of the Winnipeg Free Press reports. Even a strong performance with the Moose last season (38 points in 70 games) likely won't be enough for Spacek to earn a spot on the 23-man roster once cleared to play. The winger figures to spend another year in the AHL developing his game, though he could be in line for a call-up or two.

  • Jets' Michael Spacek: Set for Young Stars Classic

Spacek will suit up for Winnipeg at the 2018 Young Stars Classic. Spacek figures to be near the top of coach Paul Maurice's short list of potential call-ups this season -- especially after tallying 17 goals and 21 assists for the Moose last year -- although he will almost certainly begin the campaign in the minors.

  • Jets' Michael Spacek: Agrees to entry-level contract

Spacek signed a three-year, entry-level deal with the Jets on Thursday. Spacek, who led WHL Red Deer with 85 points this season, will officially join the Winnipeg organization after playing four games with AHL Manitoba on an amateur tryout at the end of the season. The center has thrived in the WHL after coming over from the Czech league and will look to make an impact with the Moose in 2017-18. Selected in the fourth round of the 2015 NHL Draft, the 20-year-old is certainly worth keeping an eye on as he continues to develop.
