  • Brad Morrison: Let go by Florida

Morrison wasn't qualified by Florida, which means he'll become an unrestricted free agent Wednesday, CapFriendly reports. Morrison hasn't appeared in an NHL contest since being selected in the fourth round of the 2015 Entry Draft and he split time between the AHL and ECHL last season. He'll likely hope to catch on with a new NHL club on a two-way deal.

The Blackhawks traded Morrison to the Panthers in exchange for Vinnie Hinostroza on Friday. Morrison has picked up five points in six AHL appearances this season. The 2015 fourth-round pick has yet to make his NHL debut, and he likely won't be doing so anytime soon with the Panthers.

Morrison was demoted to AHL Rockford on Sunday, according to CapFriendly. Morrison has yet to make his NHL debut and it's unlikely that he will this season. The 24-year-old should spend most of his time in the minors, where he's recorded four points in four games.

  • Blackhawks' Brad Morrison: Traded to Chicago

Morrison was traded to the Blackhawks by the Kings on Sunday in exchange for Olli Maatta. Morrison was a fourth-round pick by the Kings in the 2015 draft out of Lethbridge in the WHL. The 23-year-old supplied 20 points for AHL Ontario in 2018-19, and 19 points across 17 games in the ECHL for Fort Wayne this past campaign. Morrison could suit up for AHL Rockford next season, but the trade was essentially a salary dump to move Maatta's $4 million contract off the books for Chicago.
