• Matej Chalupa: Placed on unconditional waivers

  Chalupa was put on unconditional waivers by the Blackhawks for the purpose of a buyout Tuesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. Chalupa didn't get into any NHL games during his year-plus stay with the Blackhawks, but he did draw into 27 contests with AHL Rockford, picking up four goals and seven points over that span. It wouldn't be surprising to see the 23-year-old forward return to his native Czech Republic to continue his playing career.

• Blackhawks' Matej Chalupa: Assigned to AHL affiliate

  Chalupa has been assigned to AHL Rockford. Chalupa was overseas with Hradek Kralove of the Czech Extraliga prior to training camp, where he picked up two helpers in six games, but he'll start the 2020-21 season with Rockford rather than in his native Czech Republic. The 22-year-old winger could get a few call-ups to the Blackhawks this year, but he'll nonetheless be a non-factor in fantasy circles this campaign.
