  • Penguins' Bill Zonnon: Facing four-week absence

Zonnon (undisclosed) will be sidelined for four weeks with his undisclosed injury, Dave Molinari of Pittsburgh Hockey Now reports Thursday. Zonnon's absence from the entirety of the preseason all but guarantees he will head back to QMJHL Blainville-Boisbriand for the 2025-26 campaign. Selected by the Pens in the first round of the 2025 NHL Draft, the 18-year-old winger was always going to face an uphill battle to secure a roster spot. • Penguins' Bill Zonnon: Battling injury

Zonnon will miss Pittsburgh's Prospect Challenge due to an undisclosed injury, per Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site Wednesday. There's expected to be an update on Zonnon's status before training camp. The 18-year-old is a high-end prospect and was taken with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. He recorded 28 goals and 83 points in 64 regular-season outings with QMJHL Rouyn-Noranda last year.
