Some takeaways.
Had the Romanian shot stopper not denied Martinez from the spot in the first half, Inter might well have gone on to win. However, the backup Milan netminder came to their rescue and salvaged a point with that intervention and enjoyed a generally sound evening overall.
Perhaps due to Calhanoglu's baiting of the Milan fans after scoring the opener, Martinez stepped up to take the second penalty and was denied. The change in taker between the two seemed a little unnecessary as it happened and feels even more so now that we know the final score.
Overall, it was a thrilling Derby della Madonnina spectacle despite a goalless second half. The points being shared was largely deserved and there were enough flashpoints to satisfy even the most casual of viewers.
As a result, it is as you were at the Serie A summit. Milan and Napoli remain ahead of the chasing pack with inter the closest seven points back in third. It was a great chance for Milan, but still a good result considering that they remain unbeaten despite some very tricky matches already.

Losing the Italy international is not what Inter needed with Vidal now on as both sides seek a winning goal. Dzeko the next to struggle.
Level at the break at 1-1. What a great opening 45 minutes! Calhanoglu for Inter against his former team from the spot, a De Vrij own goal and then Tatarusanu saving a penalty. Sensational stuff and hoping for more of the same in the second half.
