Hugo Maradona, Diego Maradona's brother and former Serie A player, dies at 52
'The whole SSC Napoli family are with the Maradona family after the sad passing of Hugo,' Napoli said

Hugo Maradona, brother of Diego Maradona and former professional soccer player, has died. Maradona passed away from cardiac arrest in his home in Naples, Italy at 52 this week.
During his professional soccer career, Hugo Maradona played all over with most of his time spent playing in Japan and Spain for Rayo Vallecano. The Argentina native also managed the Puerto Rico Islanders for a year.
Hugo was signed by Napoli in 1987 before being loaned to Ascoli in Serie A. The two brothers also shared the pitch in the same year in a match which Napoli won.

Napoli released a statement following Maradona's death:
"The thoughts of club president Aurelio De Laurentiis, vice president Edoardo De Laurentiis, officials, coaching staff, the players and the whole SSC Napoli family are with the Maradona family after the sad passing of Hugo."
Diego Maradona died in November 2020 at age 60.
