Liverpool-Dortmund classic had a lot of what we love about soccer
Liverpool had an amazing comeback against Dortmund in the Europa League quarterfinals on Thursday.
In Jurgen they trust.
Just when Liverpool looked all but out of the Europa League quarterfinals against Borussia Dortmund with a 4-2 aggregate disadvantage and under a half an hour to find three goals, the Reds got red-hot. They blitzed Dortmund with three goals in 25 minutes to advance to the semifinals with 4-3 win in the second leg, and a 5-4 win on aggregate after the first leg finished 1-1.
Dortmund had taken a 3-1 lead in the second leg (4-2 on aggregate) on 57 minutes thanks to a fine goal from Marco Reus, and with Liverpool's back against the wall, a miracle happened.
Motivating his players from the side, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who previously coached at Dortmund, remained calm and confident. And then the goals starting pouring in, just like the beer into the glasses will in Merseyside all night.
Here's how the amazing comeback went down.
66' - Dortmund 3 (4) - Liverpool 2 (3): Philippe Coutinho scored a lovely strike.
