Brazil soccer legend Pele has sold $5 million worth of memorabilia during a three-day sale in London, England, per AFP.

Selling the items under Julien's auction house with part of the money going to a Brazilian children's hospital, his 1970 World Cup winners medal sold for just over $500,000.

He also sold his other two World Cup winning medals, shirts, trophies and more.

Here are some of the other items that were sold, per The BBC.

  • Soccer shoes worn in the movie "Escape to Victory" (featuring Sylvester Stallone) brought in $11,000
  • 2007 FIFA Presidential Award for $44,000
  • 1,000th goal tribute crown with book for $234,000

That's a lot of dough, and props to the legend for thinking about the kids in Brazil, doing what he can to make an impact. Meanwhile, Diego Maradona is doing this.
