Giovanni van Bronckhorst spoke to the press at Anfield earlier ahead of the Scottish outfit's clash with Liverpool.
Bayern's German boss is wary that his team could be caught out similarly to their recent loss away at Augsburg in the Bundesliga.
The Napoli boss on his team's start to the season...
"We want to keep going forward, to create glimmers to do even better. We have to be the ones who bring a proper work ethic to every training session and put into practice what we prepare. If you come here and settle on what might be in the indecisions, it might not end well. As always, we will have to push hard on every ball without the risk of becoming reckless. We have to be aware, good at interpreting the game, go hard on the opponent and recompose quickly because the defensive line and team distances must be the same. We want to earn our best on the pitch, game after game. More steps forward can be taken and there must be the will to believe in it and to go and earn it game after game."
The Liverpool boss on...
A tough start to the season: "We realised after Napoli it was a low point and we had to change things quickly. We did not play Wolves, played Ajax, then did not play Chelsea and could not keep up anything from the Ajax win. Then we played Brighton, a really good team, and conceded two early goals. When you spot a problem and think you have the solution and you expect the solution to be instant and influential, that in football is never the case."
Squad morale: "Do you think Cristiano Ronaldo at the moment is at the top of his confidence? It happens to all of us. Lionel Messi last season pretty much the same. You have to take a step in the right direction and when you're ready, it is back (the confidence). In individual sports you can fight yourself through it. In team sport, you have to do it together. It can be more complicated."
Defense: "We have conceded similar goals with teams going through the same gaps. The problem we have is a brave way of defending. We need intensity and if we do not do that then it is a problem. We have to be more compact. Defending is an art, and it worked for us really well for a long time. But with it not working you realise you have to go back to the basics."
Patience: "Patience is not 100% the right word, but we have to be patient to do the right thing again and again until it works out. We cannot always start new, completely new. If we can help the boys with way to defend differently then we have to do that. We have to be more compact."
Darwin Nunez: "New players come in and want them to shine immediately and that happens from time to time. We are completely calm. It's really important in our situation that he is not worrying. The three-game suspension did not help him, that is clear. The team is not flying and that does not help a striker."
The Belgian giants' boss Carl Hoefkens is looking forward to the game and has named his squad for the clash.
This is Luciano Spalletti's squad to face Ajax on Tuesday with the Italians in fine fettle. Still no Victor Osimhen, though.
