Saul "Canelo" Alvarez wiped the floor with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on Saturday night in a fight that fell below expectations and left boxing fans disappointed. What happened after the bout was just the opposite.

Moments after Alvarez was announced the victor over Chavez Jr. via unanimous shutout decision, Gennady Golovkin's made his way to the ring in an entrance straight out of WWE. Canelo and Golovkin then formally agreed to fight for the middleweight championship in what has been the most anticipated bout in boxing since Floyd Mayweather fought Manny Pacquiao.

Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KOs) is a two-weight world champion, while Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) is the unified middleweight champion. GGG just fought Daniel Jacobs on March 18 in arguably the greatest test of his career, one in which he went to a 12-round decision for the first time.

"Yes sir, yes sir, it's done," Canelo said after the fight while being interviewed by HBO's Max Kellerman.

"I think, right now, everybody is excited for us to fight," Golovkin said after making an entrance from the back into the ring.

Asked for final words, Golovkin said, "Good luck in September," to which Canelo replied, "Luck is for mediocre people."

Alvarez-Golovkin is set for Sept. 16 and will air live on HBO pay-per-view. A location has not been set for the fight at this time.

"The fight is signed, sealed and delivered with GGG. Anybody who wants to doubt it can talk with my PR guy," Golden Boy Promotions president Oscar De La Hoya said. "I've always stated that Canelo will fight GGG. I told everybody it would happen in September and we are extremely excited this fight will take place on Sept. 16, anywhere around the world. I don't know yet.

"The fight was easy to make, no big deal. These fights take a long time to happen and surprisingly this fight only took a few weeks."
