WATCH: LaMelo Ball, brother of UCLA's Lonzo Ball, has half-court shot rejected
Miles Oliver wasn't about to let UCLA commit LaMelo Ball go viral again
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice -- well, you know how it goes.
Just a few weeks ago, standout Chino Hills High School sophomore LaMelo Ball set the internet on fire by calling his shot and then swishing a three from half court in the middle of a game.
Perhaps aiming to make it a signature shot of sorts, Ball tried to pull up from half court again during Friday's game against Etiwanda. But guard Miles Oliver had clearly seen the viral clip, and he wasn't about to let it happen again.
Just as Ball went to shoot, Oliver raised up and blocked the shot -- which didn't even make it to the three-point line before it was snatched up by a Chino Hills player.
Ball didn't let it get him down, however, as he came back later with a sweet no-look dish for a layup. Most importantly Chino Hills went on to win the game, 72-67, to keep its 53-game win streak alive.
LaMelo Ball is the younger brother of standout UCLA freshman Lonzo Ball, and his other brother LiAngelo is a senior at Chino Hills, though he missed Friday's game due to an ankle injury. LiAngelo is no stranger to the spotlight, as the 6-5 forward made headlines earlier this season for scoring 72 points in a game.
Both LiAngelo and LaMelo are also committed to UCLA, but they probably won't get another shot to play with Lonzo, who is expected to be a lottery pick in this year's NBA Draft.
