The SEC on CBS returned to Jacksonville for the Florida-Georgia game this week, giving fans an opportunity to check in on the SEC East race in between spotlight games for the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. Florida made shutting down Georgia look academic in a 24-10 win, and that scholarly approach to winning football games is also evident in our SEC Scholar Athletes of the Week.

Florida quarterback Luke Del Rio was one of the two players honored this weekend. Del Rio has a 3.16 GPA as a Youth & Community Sciences major at Florida, where he is currently taking 16 credit hours to make sure the fourth-year transfer (redshirt sophomore in terms of playing eligibility) graduates on time. According to the school, Del Rio volunteers at two local schools in Gainesville and the UF Shands Hospital.

While Nick Chubb didn't have a great day on the ground against the Gators, he's been stellar off the field around Athens and was honored for his academics and community service as the other Scholar Athlete of the Week.

Chubb was named to the Dean's List and SEC Academic Honor Roll as an Agricultural and Applied Economics major, was inducted into the UGA Athletic Associations Student-Athlete Leadership Academy and regularly volunteers at Camp Sunshine, a camp that provides recrecational education and support programs for children with cancer and their families.
