Cubs' Kyle Schwarber: Officially placed on DL

Schwarber (knee) was placed on the 15-day DL on Friday.

The Cubs recalled infielder Munenori Kawasaki in a corresponding roster move. Schwarber will miss the entire season after suffering a torn ACL and LCL in addition to an ankle sprain in an outfield collision Thursday. Because he did not play at catcher before suffering the injury, he will likely lose catcher eligibility in many formats next year.
