Giants' Ricky Romero: Returns to Giants on minor league pact

Romero re-signed with the Giants on a minor league contract, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.

Romero spent the bulk of the 2016 season on the shelf with an injury, but the Giants decided to bring him back as organizational depth now that he's back to full health. Given the strong options in the Giants rotation, the left-hander likely won't be able to crack the major league roster unless he moves to the bullpen.
