Conforto will begin taking ground balls at first base, Adam Rubin of ESPN.com reports.
With Lucas Duda expected to miss significant time with a back injury, the Mets will look to fill the void at first base anyway possible. If Conforto receives starts at first base, Alejandro De Aza could see increased playing time in the outfield while Duda is out.
