Orlando Calixte: Non-tendered by Royals

The Royals declined to tender Calixte a contract for 2016.

Even with Ben Zobrist likely to leave in free agency, Calixte was deemed expandable. The 23-year-old hit eight homers and stole 22 bases with Triple-A Omaha last season, but managed just a .229/.287/.339 batting line, and the team still has Christian Colon and Cheslor Cuthbert for infield depth, and Raul Mondesi waiting in the wings.
