Kratz signed a minor league contract with the Padres on Friday, Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Kratz spent time with four different clubs last season, but struggled to catch on anywhere as he hit a combined .256 in the minors with a slash line of .192/.214/.269 in 16 major league games in 2015. At 35 years old, he'll serve as organizational depth behind the plate for the Padres.
