Phillies' Brett Oberholtzer: DFA'd Saturday

Oberholtzer was designated for assignment Saturday, Stephen Gross of the Morning Call reports.

Even though Oberholtzer is coming off four consecutive scoreless innings, the Phillies needed to make room for Jake Thompson on the 40-man roster. Oberholtzer has compiled a 4.83 ERA and 1.55 WHIP over 50.1 innings this year in the majors.
