Pirates' Tyler Glasnow: Needs to throw changeup

Glasnow has allowed only two runs in his first two Triple-A starts (10 innings), striking out 15 batters while giving up three walks, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
Pirates GM Neal Huntington wasn't pleased with Glasnow's pitch efficiency -- he needed 83 pitches in five innings -- and also wants the prospect to work on a third-pitch changeup. "Explosive fastball at times, inconsistent at others," the general manager said. "Explosive breaking ball at times, inconsistent at others. Nearly a complete lack of use of the changeup." Huntington went on to add that the organization may mandate a certain number of changeups to be thrown in each outing. "I don't want to say force just yet, but in a few more starts, it might be mandated, absolutely," he said.
